Hello World!!!
I apologize for not blogging in a while. Like I said before, shift happens. Things progress. They get even better than they are already. Every day, something awesome happens, just adding to your repertoire of happy memories to relive. Also, I am forced to cast away the list that was growing rapidly, of the topics I wanted to touch on. It grew until it was insurmountable, so I'm simply going to keep current. Going with the flow!! :)
So anyway, yesterday I finished Entrapment, one of the best, and most relevant, books I have ever read. You people need to read it!!!! Especially Cement Dries Purple. I know you don't believe me, but you would like this one. Trust me. Have I ever steered you wrong?? (Wait, don't answer that....) It is complete and total awesomeness, told completely in chat. You know, like chat rooms and IMing. I would say that I am 50% Tamra, 30% Annie, and 20% Bliss. I want 50% Mitch, 25% Beau, and 25% Jasper. And you will know what I mean if you read the book. And, to reiterate, in case you did not get the message, READ THE DARN BOOK!!!!!!
In Science, I am doing Chemistry, something super interesting. (At least, to me. Others do not agree.) It is because everything is so COOL!!!! For instance, hydrogen peroxide. We should all know that water, or H2O, is made of 2 atoms of hydrogen, and 1 of oxygen. Well, hydrogen peroxide is also known as H2O2, and it has 2 hydrogen atoms, and 2 oxygen atoms. In other words, it is water, with one tiny little oxygen atom thrown in there. I should mention that hydrogen and oxygen make up the human body as well. Water is also essential to human life. So, you would assume that 2 atoms of hydrogen combined with 2 atoms of oxygen would not hurt you, right?? Wrong. Hydrogen peroxide can be fatal, if used in over 3% doses in medicine. It can also corrode human skin. Strange how something so small as extra oxygen atoms can make such a huge difference.
I've also found my favorite element. Carbon. It's actually quite cool. Did you know that it can form nearly 10 million compounds?? And that it is a basic building block in organic chemistry, and is present in every single living organism everywhere?? It can also take the form of one of the hardest substances (diamond), or one of the softest (graphite). Not to mention, it has the highest melting/sublimation point of all of the elements, and is the fourth most abundant element in the universe. Pretty powerful, huh??
Furthermore, on the top of my post, you will most likely notice a picture of David Oreck, otherwise known as the vacuum guy on TV that promises all of your money back and free shipping and a steaming iron thing. I just put a picture up there because he is such a darn cute old man :) :)
Yesterday, I went to an IMAX movie about sharks at the World Golf Village. It was appropriately titled "Sharks". The movie itself was OK, yet it gained me two new favorite animals!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay :) They are a whale shark and a sawfish. Did you know that whale sharks are as long as a school bus?? Awesome!!! I think they even replace manatees and walruses as my favorite...... too bad they are not at SeaWorld... Seriously, though, look them up on Google Images. You may even be amazed :)
And now onto a slightly more serious topic. Not really, but kind of. All of my friends think that they are in love. Yes, in love. Granted, they all slightly differ in degrees of obsession, let's call it, yet they still think that they are in love, and they have sort of resigned themselves to this fact, and stand by it like it is law. (Yes, I understand that I have an Adam Young obsession, and I would like to say that it is different. It just is.) But anyway, that is their belief, and I'm a little apprehensive about it, because we are still young and free :), but whatever floats their boat. Not my business. I would just like to take this opportunity to throw in a quote by John Donne, an English poet born in 1572. "Love built on beauty, soon as beauty, dies." So true. So, my advice: Don't fall in love with every boy you lay your eyes on. That's it. Don't fall in love with every boy you lay your eyes on. Take it or don't, that is my personal opinion, and I am not criticizing.
On a somewhat lighter note, I dyed Barbie hair on Friday. With some hair dye cream stuff I got a long time ago and was not willing to try on my own hair, as it is metallic pink, purple, red, gold, blue, silver, and pink glitter. It did not work well, let us just say that. :) It was actually fairly hilarious, as I was dying a chunk of synthetic hair red while Cement Dries Purple held my cell phone to my ear while I talked to a couple people on the phone, while the "gang" rode by, and Cement Dries Purple yelled "Hi". Spaz48 and I were so proud. Finally!!!!! :) A simple "Hi"!!!!!!!
They also held us after school on Thursday for a little over an hour, due to tornado warnings. Admittedly, two tornadoes did touch down south of us, yet I should not be sitting in my Science classroom at 3:15!!!!!!!!!! It was quite irritating :(
I would also like you to travel to a certain website. However, my dad says I can't put the link on here or whatever, as it "reveals my identity". So, my NJ readers, go to Google and type in my name. Then click on the 4th link. It is hilarious, and they call me a seventh grader. Text me for the whole story. It may leave some of you enlightened. (It has something to do with onion tacos.... hint hint......) Oh, and you can click on the second one too, if you want like the same story but with a picture of me. However, the picture is captioned wrong, which irks me. Ugh.
And, finally, I am so excited for this summer, when I go to Freeborn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My daddy is going to take me to Owatonna High on my grandpa's motorcycle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which is where Adam Young went!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I'm going to walk up the steps that he walked up almost every day for 4 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which is exciting for me!!!!!!!!!!!! Hence the exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Super cool!!!!!!!!!!! And I'm gonna find a way to break in and look at the yearbooks!!!!!!!!! (Kidding... or not... LOL) Cuz he's in there (the yearbooks)!!!!!!!!!!! And he was voted Most Unique Style!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that is so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And maybe he will be visiting for the summer or something!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I'll see him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like, at the gas station or something!!!!!!!!!! Dreadfully optimistic, but whatever!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-A Hopelessly Happy Maddie!!!!!!!!!!!! Love and vivacity.
"I was sick of the West, when I turned 21, so I moved to the Sunshine State" -Adam Young, an Owatonna High 2005 graduate. (Look him up on the Alumni page!!!! He is there, and it made me squeal with joy when I saw him:))
